BIGKID DANCE

BIGKID DANCE is the home for all of Mark’s works & projects. These new creations will be mostly collaborative with an ever changing and growing collective of artists from many different cultures, backgrounds, identities, practices and artistic mediums.

BIGKIDS Mission is to create a safe, loving space and practice for all artists involved with hopes of emulating that safety, love, empathy and compassion out into the dance community & world. We want to bring people together to broaden our worldly knowledge of humanity, culture and experience, create community and self preservation in our field. With works rooted in the upheaval of childhood and trans-generational trauma, we hope to understand more about the human condition and spread love, care, hope, empathy and light to those involved in our creations, those viewing and those around us.

GOALS

-Harness our voice as a small dance community in Philadelphia.

-Disrupt the norms that have been set up in art making, dance making and the way a company looks.

-Provide access to dance, our movement language and our performances to the greater community.

-Reach out and get people moving, thinking, collaborating, creating and bringing people together.

-Expand our voices, our art to more populated artistic areas like NY and LA so we can broaden our scope.

-Take BigKids work on tour around the country and soon around the world to reach more smaller communities and spread our love of dance, collaboration, nostalgic art making and how it’s all rooted in love.

-Be a beacon and safe haven for the dance community. A place for people to come to knowing they will be accepted no matter what. A place where artists can express and be their truest selves.
